Another one for the collective Norton brain trust. I've seen MKIII Interstates without fork gaiters (1975 sales brochure) and with (Duckworth pages 86 and 88). What gives? Any rhyme or reason? One type to some countries? One type earlier assembly than others? One type preferable to another? Dyno Dave and comrades, can you shed some light? Thanks for the continuing education.

The thing about Norton, nothing is for certain. I did live the 'ERA' and don't remember seeing any gaiters here in SoCal, USA.
I just checked my Mark III, 1975 parts book. It lists both USA type (the small Ceriani type) and the Euro (gaiter) type.
My guess is a Euro spec bike had them.

A local club member with a VERY high mileage commando Says the euro gaiters will about triple the life of the forks over the "shorties".
I usually put the long gaiters on my bikes when I get the forks off.
