Hi all,
To introduce myself, I'm from Canada and my passion is a particularly obscure British bike, the Cotton. OK, I know this is mainly a Norton forum (I guess my closest connection would be pre-NVT with my Villiers engined Cottons and TR6R), but hopefully someone can help me with a totally obscure request.
I stumbled across an archived 1997 posting on another site where a Ben English from Albany NY introduced himself as a regular contributor to this Brit-Iron site and also a Norton Owner's Club Member. In his post, he describes a Suzuki Hustler X6 he used to race in Aspen CO that had a "gorgeous Mitchenall Brothers fiberglass tank and seat from a Cotton Telstar". I am researching one of the earliest known Telstars that co-incidentally was raced at Aspen in 1964 before being converted to a dirt bike (losing its tank/seat/fairing in the process) and would like to track down Ben if he is still around and learn about his fairing/tank/seat. One in a zillion chance I know after all these years, but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Cheers, Barry
