I built my Atlas three years ago with great online help from Dyno-Dave and John A. and others. I love this bike and it's a strong runner. It's time again to pull it out of the shed, change the blood and shine it up. When ever I kick it to life, I think of you guys.
It's an Atlas with Commando pistons, a megacycle 'general' cam, and a head job. I have a friend, Gary (INOA B.C rep) with a '65 with stock pistons and that is a sweet ride. The Commando pistons make mine a bit of a pig to kick over and it has some vibes at certain speeds: 2000rpm 5000rpm. Gary kicks his Atlas to life standing along side and he can't weigh more than 130lbs. I've ridden his and it is smooooth.
That being said, I'm quite pleased with my ride also. Quite peppy, and I can roll with the newer bikes and keep up. I can keep up with Gary also, despite me fatly ouweighing him by 100lbs...?
Thanks Dave and John and the rest of you wonderfull folks at Brit Iron! It's very reassuring to see Dave's still here.
