Otherwise to me, any atlas is based on condition and the particular year is irrelavant. They are all well over 30 years old

650SS, Atlas, G15/N15 and P11 series stayed on through the entire model year 1968. During 4th quarter 1968 (that would be 2nd quarter of model year 1969), Atlas and P11 series came to a halt while the G15/N15 stayed on a little longer. In fact, a last batch of G/N15CS hybrids was assembled shortly before closure of the Plumstead works in the summer of 1969. The 650ss (now dubbed Mercury) also stayed on well into 1969. Unsold samples of both lines were still offered during the 1970 model year. Apparently, they were sold at discounted prices to clear the AMC warehouse.

Around 1966, the atlas was fitted with a faster oil pump and increased oil feed through conrod holes. Also magneto was dropped after this year for coil baterry ignition. Roy Bacons book on Norton Twins is good value, but then dont believe everything you read in books as gospel. Most bikes described as standard, rarely are.
