I finally got a steering head lock with keys. How is it held in place? The part book shows a grub screw but there is no hole in the lock recess. I have seen this method on other Nortons. My Norton is a 1974 850 Commando (Oct 1973 on plate)
Also at 65 mph and greater the front forks down at the axle look like they shudder forward and back for 2seconds then even out for 2 seconds and repeats . . .
the stanchions are new, bushes are new ,head bearings seem OK, new tire, balanced (2 oz beads, tried 1 oz then 2oz) it is the original rim respoked by reputable shop(Had back to shop to rechecked and told OK)
I don't really feel it in the handlebars but do not think it is a good thing.Ya I know don't go over 50 but sometimes . . .
Any help will be appreciated, thanks Jerry

Thanks for your reply.
Would you prefer useing the beads as I did or weights on rim or spokes? I put in 1 oz. then 1 oz more, : should I try 1 more? Too much snow here now but if the road clears . . .
